Something's About to Happen - Roberto Mares (CRMD001)

“Something's About to Happen” is her latest work, begun in late 2021 and due for release in September 2023. A project that develops around female voices, which become refined, elegant, and profound instruments. Each song is a layering of vocal and musical elements, capturing a suggestion and bringing it to fruition in a setting.
This project stems from collaborations with artists of various backgrounds, whom Roberto has long known and admired. It was his friendship with Julia Kent, who received a few songs for pre-listening in the spring of 2022 and decided to participate in the project with her contribution on the song "Dotted Heart," that really helped the album take shape and form.
Around the same time, Sara Ardizzoni (Dagger Moth) also decided to contribute to the song "Monte Clérigo." From that moment on, various contributions were gradually defined depending on the setting of the songs.
Elena Strada, Alessandra Aricò, Germana Giannini, Antonella Talamonti, and Massimo Fantoni elevate each piece with their interpretations, along with many other artists.
Roberto's task is to create connections and sonic frictions that lead far away, in a sort of spiral that drags and elevates at the same time.
