Masterclone Black CD™ — the Velut Luna audiophile signature

Masterclone Black CD™ is more than a format designation: it is the distinctive Velut Luna mark for its reference audiophile CD editions. It defines an editorial and sonic identity created to make immediately recognizable those releases in which care of the master, mastering and physical medium form part of one coherent listening experience.

The Masterclone name has long been part of the Velut Luna tradition and has also been used for special MASTERCLONE editions on 24K Gold CD. Masterclone Black CD™ is its contemporary evolution: a proprietary Velut Luna sub-brand intended to identify the label’s selected audiophile CD editions consistently.

The mark identifies the physical edition and its place within the Masterclone Black CD™ line; recording, mixing, mastering, any remastering and physical-media production specifications remain title-specific and are stated only when documented. For Project Two, Masterclone Black CD™ identifies the physical CVLD387B version, distinct from the 88.2kHz/24bit HD File CVLD387, offered as a separate digital variant.

A Genesis Rhapsody

Project Two is the conceptual continuation of Project One, but with a new focus: a complete project dedicated to Genesis. Marco Lo Muscio creates a pianistic and chamber-style reinterpretation of the band’s repertoire, linking pieces such as Entangled, Horizons, Firth of Fifth and The Cinema Show with Bach and his own original elaborations.

On two tracks, Steve Hackett on guitar and John Hackett on flute collaborate again with Lo Muscio, creating a direct connection with the musical history of Genesis. The programme moves between transcription, reinterpretation and original composition, with the grand piano at the centre of the album’s narrative.

Audiophile recording at 88.2kHz/24bit

The original recording was made live in the studio at 88.2kHz/24bit at Magister Recording Area in Preganziol, Italy, in December 2024. The analogue mix and mastering were completed in January 2025 at VLS Studio in Náquera, Spain.

The recording features the Steinway & Sons D274 Concert Grand resident at Magister Recording Area. The piano was captured with a microphone technique developed by Marco Lincetto with the aim of achieving a broad, detailed and “symphonic” sense of scale.
