John Williams, among the greatest film score composers, is undoubtedly also among the most refined contemporary orchestrators. Hence the challenge of transferring famous film scores like Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Memoirs of a Geisha, passing through Schindler's List and arriving at true cinematic "cults": Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, to an instrument like the organ.
And not just any organ, but the grand organ of the "Cesare Pollini" Auditorium, home of the Padua Conservatory of Music.
A unique repertoire of its kind, which allows all the registers of this instrument to be highlighted, from pianissimo to the symphonic "tutti", considering that the choice was made to give space to John Williams' various musical languages, from the most celebratory and epic to the most intimate and meditative, to satisfy the tastes of those who know the more blockbuster Williams, but also those who know or want to delve deeper into a less known but equally brilliant Williams.
