Colombian singer-songwriter Marta Gomez is undoubtedly one of Latin America's most poetic voices. After receiving a scholarship for exceptional merit, she graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music. In 2004, the year she released her groundbreaking album "Cantos de Agua Dulce" for Chesky Records, she was nominated for a Latin Billboard Music Award in the Latin Jazz Album of the Year category. The album blends Colombian folk music with Latin rhythms, Spanish flamenco, and jazz harmonies: 11 tracks, nine of which are original compositions by Gomez, ranging from the valleys of Colombia to the coasts of Peru and beyond. The arrangements focus on vocals and guitar and are enriched by subtle accents of bass, percussion, flute, and accordion, revealing Gomez's talent for lyrical storytelling and emotional clarity.
