Editorial by Andrea Bedetti

Here we are with this new issue! I won't deny that when it was decided to feature the legendary Robert Fripp on the cover, I couldn't help but enthusiastically approve. This is because I feel a pang of pain when his name is simply associated with his favorite instrument, the guitar. Yes, because Fripp is truly a well-rounded musician, and being one of the greatest guitarists still working, as well as founding King Crimson, are just a small piece of the multifaceted and complex puzzle that has always distinguished his work as a composer and brilliant manipulator of sound. And to understand this, the reader will only need to enjoy the descriptions that the good Enrico Merlin has put together to explain six albums by the Wimborne Minster musician in a few precise terms, without which it is impossible to grasp the depth and sensitivity of his artistry.

Another figure who draws attention is Quirino Principe, the dean of Italian musicologists, but whose breadth of interests and passions extend far beyond the world of classical music. We get a glimpse of this through Alfredo Di Pietro's interview with him. And, remaining within the realm of classical music, Edmondo Filippini, with his portrait of the Swedish composer Kurt Atterberg, unfortunately still unknown in our country, reminds us that the paths to sonic creativity are truly infinite, given that this musician shared his art with his specialization in engineering and his work in a patent office!

Even the stones know that Marco Lincetto is a passionate man. And for further confirmation, it's worthwhile to look at his presentation on Enrico Ruggeri's latest album, La caverna di Platone . For jazz, Francesco Cataldo Verrina introduces us to a top-notch pianist, one of the leading exponents of hard bop , Horace Silver. And of course, let's not forget the contributions of Igor Daniele Ebuli Poletti and Alessandro Nava, with the former describing one of Dexter Gordon's finest albums, and the latter presenting, to the delight of music lovers, the discography of Giuseppe Verdi's Macbeth .

For high-fidelity listening products, don't miss the article on Quality Audio's Reference signal cables, as well as the Sublima Mat Limited Edition . I tried them and was absolutely blown away...

Happy reading everyone!
