NotesThe idea for the album stems from a sincere curiosity to delve deeper into one's roots and is the result of a journey that saw us gradually shed the foreign musical trends that grip us in artistic matters.
The revival of this music is carried out with vivid creativity. The language used to approach the pieces is that of big band Jazz, but the sounds, with keyboards and electric guitar, add more rock nuances to the whole.
Until recently, and often still today, the word Liscio was associated, in most people's imagination, with a vulgar subculture of elderly people and buxom ladies, who gathered in shiny clothes to dance to this low-brow music.
The re-emergence of Liscio and its people may seem to many like the discovery of a cannibal tribe from Indochina and its practices. The stereotype helps, but there is also more to this world: incredible orchestras, led by great composers and musicians like Carlo Brighi, Secondo Casadei, Ivano Nicolucci, Castellina-Pasi, took turns for fifty years, performing 35 concerts a month to satisfy their audience.
The people of Romagna are irreparably marked by this history, and this applies both to those who are part of this world and to those who snub it. Romagna Folklore is music that has nothing to envy to other popular music from the rest of the world, which enjoys better consideration, such as blues, tango, salsa, musette, etc... in fact...
