    Notes

As Bill Evans explained to an interviewer, “Jazz cannot be explained, it must be experienced firsthand because it is about feelings, not words. Words are the children of reason and cannot translate a feeling because they are not part of it.” The great pianist’s answer fits perfectly with this multifaceted music that, in line with the history of the band, is balanced between jazz language, classical composure and clear folk atmospheres.
Words cannot give voice to the emotions of the soul aroused by a refined work like this, where the precious interventions of the soloists are in tune with the sweetness of the compositions. Radiant hues, singable melodies and dreamy climates prevail but do not exhaust the intense and colorful collective dialogue, which can be rhythmically incisive and capable of freely exploring the form.
