“Weke” is the cryptic and somewhat mysterious title of Vincenzo Cipriani’s new album.
Composer and excellent pianist, the Apulian author presents us, with his first album, an authentic musical "fresco".
This is an ideal “music for images”, which allows Cipriani to continue the noble tradition of the great Italian authors of film music, such as, to name the most illustrious, Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone.
The flexible basic structure, composed of a small string orchestra and the piano, presents varied atmospheres and moods, which in the immediacy of a language accessible to all, but not at all banal, allow the listener to immerse himself in a musical poetics rich in colors and emotions.
The album also closes with two original arrangements of a Beatles song, the very refined lullaby “Good Night”, also performed by an ethereal choir of children's voices and by the little Anna Cipriani as soloist, and two songs by Astor Piazzolla, which feature guests such as soprano Maria Maddalena Notarstefano in “Ave Maria” and saxophonist Vito Soranno in “Inverno Porteno”: this is a tribute by Vincenzo Cipriani to two of his important musical references.

Recorded by Marc Keno in the Church of San Felice delle Suore Francescane in Gravina in Puglia, this album was then mixed and mastered in analog domain by Marco Lincetto, using a prestigious Neve series 80 analog console.
