Darabukke (or tarabuka) is a chalice-shaped clay percussion instrument used by pre-Islamic Egyptian populations during their rituals. It is during a celebration that stories are passed down from generation to generation and traditions and rites are rediscovered. Music is the true protagonist that narrates distant stories. There are no categories for this music; contemporary, lively and current sound while harking back to more or less ancient times here and elsewhere. There are no categories for the instruments; polyphonic and monodic, melodic and percussive, playing solo or in duo, always mixing the listening levels. There are no categories for what we are writing and listening to.
