Sappiamo che operò durante l’apogeo della pratica musicale solistica e fu considerato uno straordinario virtuoso della viola da gamba. Le sue composizioni sono raccolte in alcuni fondi unitamente ai lavori di altri musicisti, e ancora mancano di essere pienamente riscoperte. Scopo di questo CD è testimoniare la pratica compositiva di un autore che ancor oggi offre grandi possibilità espressive attraverso la ricerca e l’uso della viola impiegata nelle sue diverse declinazioni. \n \nENGLISH VERSION \n \nLittle is known about the life of Dietrich Steffkins. He worked during the apogee of solo music practice and was considered an extraordinary viola da gamba virtuoso. His compositions are collected in some funds together with the works of other musicians, and are still to be fully rediscovered.
