Two pages of rare listening by the great late romantic German composer. The Suite op.16 is the transcription of a previous work by the same author composed for organ and dedicated to JSBach: the piece echoes the motifs so dear to German romanticism, all directed towards the Transcendent and the creation of a music that can reflect the perfection of the eternal. The Six Pieces op.94 splendidly demonstrate how Reger uses with extraordinary skill the harmonic-contraptual resources offered by the minor mode. In short: an intense and profound album characterized by solemn sounds even more marked by the interpretative authority of Teresa Trevisan and Flavio Zaccaria and by the sumptuous sound of the Steinway&Sons D 274 Concert Grand piano.
