In the Mosaics of Piazza Armerina, Semini takes up the cloistered Respighi of Church Glass Windows. The evocation of the figures in colored tesserae translates into a use of motifs in continuous overlapping, creating a rotating, cyclical effect, which alludes to the eternity of art, always capable of dying and then rising again. For his part, Hindemith created “music for use”: an art laboratory and craft, destined to live beyond the romantic myth of transcendental inspiration.
