Notes The idea for the album was born from a sincere curiosity to delve deeper into one's roots and is the result of a journey that has seen us gradually strip ourselves of the foreign-loving fashions that, in artistic matters, grip us.
The recovery of this music is accomplished with lively creativity. The language with which the songs are approached is that of the great Jazz ensemble, but the sounds, with keyboards and electric guitar, bring more rock nuances to the whole.
Until recently, and often still today, the word Liscio was associated, in the imagination of most people, with a boorish subculture of elderly and buxom ladies, who met in shiny clothes to dance to this vile music.
The resurgence of Liscio and its people may seem to most people like the discovery of a cannibal tribe from Indochina and its practices. The stereotype helps, but there is also something else in this world: incredible orchestras, led by great composers and musicians such as Carlo Brighi, Secondo Casadei, Ivano Nicolucci, Castellina-Pasi, have alternated for fifty years, doing 35 concerts a month to satisfy their audience.
The people of Romagna are marked by this history in an irreparable way, and this is true both for those who are part of this world and for those who snub it. Folklore Romagnolo is a music that has nothing to envy to other popular music from the rest of the world, which enjoy better consideration, such as blues, tango, salsa, musette etc... indeed...
