Description
Deep Purple returns with SPLAT!, their new studio album.
Far from merely preserving their extraordinary legacy, Deep Purple continues to expand it, driven by the same creative spirit and energy that characterized their early works.
With SPLAT!, the band delivers their heaviest album in years, recorded by playing together in the studio, following the direct and authentic method that has always been part of Deep Purple's history.
Once again produced by Bob Ezrin, the album recaptures the sound, power, and attitude that made the band unmistakable, while projecting them into a fully contemporary dimension.
At the heart of the album is an idea conceived by Ian Gillan: the end of humanity is not approached in a purely apocalyptic sense, but interpreted as a metamorphosis, a transition towards a form of existence that transcends the physical dimension.
"This incarnation of Deep Purple," says Ian Gillan, "seems to me an extremely current version of the Deep Purple of yesteryear, those of the seventies."
SPLAT! is available in various formats: CD, double black LP, limited edition double purple LP, limited edition double transparent yellow LP, and a limited edition collector's box set.
