Georg Solti masterfully conducts the London Symphony Orchestra in a tribute entirely dedicated to the musical genius of Béla Bartók. The program opens with the celebrated Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta , a visionary composition with a mysterious and complex character, which has also become iconic thanks to cinema. This is followed by the suite from the ballet The Miraculous Mandarin , a provocative and powerful work, full of dramatic tension. The disc closes with the lively and rhythmically complex Dance Suite , a tribute to Hungarian folk roots. An intense and refined performance that highlights the modernity of Bartók's language.
