DIETMAR BERGER, cello
We don't know much about Nicolò Sanguinazzo, but it's assumed he was active between 1690 and 1720 and was close to Antonio Caldara. In his manuscripts, he refers to himself as Olocin Ozzaniugnas, his name backwards, a Dilettante di Violoncello. His Libro di Esercizi (Book of Exercises) offers an extraordinary opportunity to explore the meticulous technique of this delicate, elegant, and playful spoken style.
