The extraordinary soul voice of Paola Casula is at the service of the new minimal arrangements by Marco Strano, a roundup of 15 tracks divided between famous standards and original songs of his composition (My Funny Valentine, Another Day, Both Sides Now, The way we were, etc. and his Nuvole di Carta, Tears, Non più noi, Tra i ricordi), and gives us a memorable record, in which a warm and round voice, accompanied by the piano of Alessandro Mozzi, saxophones and flutes of Strano, from the rich and varied percussions of Paolo Vidaich and the mighty bass of the legendary bassist of the US Band, Gas The Bass, is expressed with an unprecedented richness and groove guaranteed even by an entirely analog shot, performed live live-in-studio direct-to-two-tracks in the large space of Room A of Studio Magister of Preganziol.

Ottimo lavoro

Disco favoloso, un lavoro che ti trasporta, che ti fa sognare, anche qua Velut Luna ha fatto centro, un grazie particolare agli artisti di questo album, a Marco Lincetto per il suo fiuto infallibile nel produrre ottima musica e un grazie particolare al mitico Reference Music Store sempre precisi e puntuali.

Una gradita riproposizione

Ho amato "Nuvole di carta", alla sua uscita su CD. La voce di Paola Casula, non potentissima ma molto stilosa, gli arrangiamenti essenziali ma non minimalisti. Bellissime canzoni (in larghissima parte covers di brani noti), presa sonora stellare, mix equilibrato. Il disco perfetto. Ho poi potuto apprezzare Paola Casula live, in un ambiente molto raccolto ed è stata una lunga emozione ascoltarla durante l'esecuzione e dopo, in una conversazione casuale. Una ragazza in gamba, meritava di "fare strada". I cd successivi non mi sono piaciuti altrettanto, forse non li ho capiti, forse si sono volute provare altre strade. Il remaster 2023, oggetto di questa recensione, rende ancora più giustizia a "Nuvole di Carta". Il suono è diventato scintillante, degno di una grande produzione internazionale. Di Paola Casula non ho saputo più nulla, spero sia felice come lo sono io quando la ascolto. Un piccolo appunto : la scritta aggiunta sulla cover [Remasterd] è errata. Ma nessuno lo ha visto ????
