TECHNICAL NOTES
Tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11: 24bit/88.2kHz original recording at Auditorium Pollini, Padova on June, 12, 14, 2006. Tracks 5: 24bit/88.2 original recording at Magister Studio, Sala A, Preganziol on July, 1, 2006. All songs performed at Auditorium Pollini were recorded live-in-studio on 32tracks-HDRecorder, using N.2 PRISM SOUND ADA8 XR A/D
converters. “When you wish upon a star” was recorded at Magister Studio using 7 voices overdub: Delio Caporale performed all male voices (tenor 1, tenor 2, bass) and Rosella Caporale performed all female voices (alto 1, alto 2, soprano and Solo).

This album represents a milestone for one of the greatest composers and arrangers of Italian jazz, Oscar del Barba, a longtime reference for Velut Luna. The extraordinary voice of Rosella Caporale, who also wrote several original lyrics, is at the service of Oscar's art. For this album, he has created eight new arrangements of great American classics (Making Whopee, Speak Low, Someday My Prince Will Come, etc.) and five brand-new pieces of his own compositions, all conceived for a full symphony orchestra and featuring contributions from some of the greatest jazz soloists: Antonio Zambrini on piano, Robert Bonisolo and Massimo Salvagnini on saxophone, Fausto Beccalossi on accordion, and Caterina Bergo on harp. Recorded live in Padua's magnificent Auditorium Pollini in high definition and multichannel, this SACD will leave you with no regrets about the great American orchestral productions by Telarc.
