This definition was given to many Italian lyric authors of the verismo era. We therefore liked to revive it to pay homage to a group of very young Italian singers, rich in talent and selected by Maestro Mauro Trombetta and the artistic director Mara Monopoli for the "Lirica Sperimentale" first advanced specialization course organized by the Province of Foggia. Accompanied by the great "U.Giordano" symphonic orchestra conducted by M°Gianna Fratta, these brilliant performers offer an interesting and varied selection of arias from the verismo repertoire: Leoncavallo, Mascagni, the unreleased on disc Pisano, Giordano and Puccini. In a historical fresco of definite historical and musicological interest.
