Joined to the first volume of this series dedicated to the cello in the 18th century, which features the 12 sonatas from Lanzetti's Opus I (1736), plus the addition made years later to the English edition of Opus II and III—simple flute transcriptions of eleven of the sonatas from Opus I—this recording of the complete Opus V and VI completes the entire corpus of music published by this composer. Between 1750 and 1760, following a serious illness that brought him close to death, he decided to publish the first of these two works, and the second following a full and successful recovery.
