KURT! is a project led by singer Valentina Fin who, together with pianist Mauro Spanò, has developed research dedicated to the figure of Kurt Weill, a German composer and musician from the early twentieth century. The chamber ensemble combines the classic string quartet with the piano and voice duo. The sextet, based on the original scores, has developed new and contemporary arrangements, then re-proposing the same atmospheres between jazz and contemporary classical music, in some original pieces written specifically for the ensemble and inspired by some poems by Weill's longtime friend and collaborator, Bertolt Brecht.
