This recording is the first ever dedicated to the chamber music of J.B. Janson. Along with the Duport brothers, he was the leading exponent of the French cello school and became its first professor at the Paris Conservatory in the year of its foundation. Unjustly forgotten by history, his early compositions exemplify the shift in European musical taste from the Galante Style to Classicism.
