This CD is dedicated to some of the most significant pieces for trumpet and piano, a formation that literally emerged at the beginning of the last century. No prominent 19th-century composer left us chamber pieces, much less in a duo, that featured the trumpet as a solo instrument; and it is perhaps worth briefly asking why the instrument was almost entirely absent from the repertoire. With this publication, we will try to identify the reasons and discover some of the most evocative pieces dedicated to it.
ANDREA LUCCHI, trumpet
