THE MUSICAL FLOWERS, BAROQUE ENSEMBLE

The ensemble is made up of one or two flutes, basso continuo, and other instruments according to the proposed programs, aiming to present the repertoire of the flute soloist and chamber musician in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
For the ensemble, musical philology and ancient performance practice are the essential starting point for a correct performance reconstruction of ancient scores, and above all for a lively and vital performance that can touch the sensibilities of our time, in an ideal reconciliation between the spirit of "Les Anciens" and "Les Modernes".
The musicians have studied with performers such as Frans Brüggen, Pedro Memelsdorff, Kees Boeke, Marijke Miessen, Roberto Gini, Jordi Savall, Bob van Asperen, Gordon Murray, Larry Alpert.
The concerts of the group and its members have been appreciated in many Italian cities and abroad (Padua, Amici della Musica and CAMS Recorder Centre 1991-1994; Vicenza 1987-1989; Florence; Venice Organ Concerts at the Ospedaletto 1987, 1993, 1994, 1996 and at the Church of the Pietà (Vivaldi's church) 1997; Ravenna, Alighieri Theatre, 1997; Bologna SIFD, 1995; Naples; Amsterdam, Italian Cultureel Institut, ND, 1986; Budapest, H., 1995, Abano-Montegrotto Musica, Bologna Festival 2001.
In 1997, the Ensemble recorded Diogenio Bigaglia's Sonatas for recorder and continuo. In 1998, it recorded Corelli's Sonatas Opus V and Sanmartini's Triosonatas, again for the Tactus label. A CD of Bellinzani's Sonatas was released in 2002, and one by Francesco Barsanti in 2004. Vivaldi's Concertos a 4 followed in 2014, commissioned in 2015 in Todi for Musica Perduta and in Loule, Portugal, for the XVII Encontros de Musica Antigua de Loulè “Francisco Rosado”.

ENGLISH VERSION

The ensemble is composed by one or two recorders (or flutes), continuo, and other additional instruments with the common aim to focus on the repertoire of the flute (both soloist and in chamber formation) during the XVII and the XVIII Centuries.
The musical philology and the original performing practice are essential for a real understanding of the early and baroque music and it is the basis to put in touch this repertoire with the sensitivity of nowadays, in a sort of ideal reconciliation between the spirit of “Les Anciens” and of “Les Modernes”.
I flowers had studied with musicians such as Frans Brüggen, Pedro Memelsdorff, Kees Boeke, Marijke Miessen, Roberto Gini, Jordi Savall, Ton Koopman, Bob van Asperen, Gordon, Murray, Larry Alpert.
They have been praised in many concerts held in Italy and abroad (Padua, Amici della Musica and Centro di Flauto dolce CAMS 1991-1994; Vicenza 1987-1989; Florence; Venice Organ Concertos at the Ospedaletto 1987, 1993, 1994, 1996 and Vivaldi's Pietà Church 1997; Ravenna, Teatro Alighieri, 1997; Bologna SIFD, 1995; Naples; Amsterdam, Italian Cultureel Institut, ND, 1986; Budapest, H., 1995, Abano Montegrotto Musica and Bologna Festival 2001.
In 1997 the Ensemble recorded Bigaglia's Recorder Sonatas and the following year it took on Corelli's Sonatas, Opus V and Sammartini's Triosonatas for the label Tactus. In 2002 the Ensemble recorded Paolo Bellinzani's Sonatas, and in 2004 it is the turn of a CD dedicated to Francesco Barsanti.
