This disc brings together two of Bruckner's most monumental symphonies, performed by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under the baton of Eduard van Beinum. The Seventh unfolds with solemnity and transparency, the Adagio radiating lyricism and meditative depth, while the Scherzo and Finale maintain momentum and cohesion. The Eighth, with its apocalyptic scope, alternates dramatic tensions and contemplative openings, culminating in a Finale of impressive breadth and power.
