Collection: Emanuel Siprutini

Emanuel Siprutini (born around 1730 in the Netherlands ; died around 1790 in London) was a cellist and classical composer .

According to Carl Ferdinand Pohl (1819–1887), Emanuel Siprutini was a son of Jewish parents. After traveling through Italy and Spain, he settled in London, where he made his first appearance on February 27, 1756. According to Otto Jahn , who incorrectly gave the name as Siprutini, Leopold Mozart is said to have made a lot of effort to convert Siprutini to Catholicism during his stay in London in 1764. Several of his performances are documented in the 1770s. His students included John Crosdill (1751–1825).
