Notes
Full digital recording studio, Casalecchio di Reno (BO) Italy, recorded on September 2005. Marco Lo Russo, accordion, Tiziano Zanotti, double bass.
The Darabukka (or tarabuka) is a goblet-shaped clay percussion instrument used by pre-Islamic Egyptian peoples during their rituals. It is during a celebration that stories are handed down from generation to generation and traditions and rituals are rediscovered. Music is the true protagonist that narrates distant tales. There are no categories for this music; contemporary, lively and current sound while referring to more or less ancient times here and elsewhere. There are no categories for the instruments; polyphonic and monodic, melodic and percussive, playing solo or in a duo, always mixing the listening levels. There are no categories for what we are writing and listening to.
