Notes
This musical project was born in 2014 and is dedicated to showcasing a selection of the most significant pieces from the great Neapolitan Song repertoire, from famous melodies such as I te vurria vasà, Era de Maggio, La Tarantella of Rossini, to older pieces, such as Canto delle lavandaie del Vomero (1200s), ‘Sto core mio (1300s), Fenesta Vascia (1500s), Lo Guarracino (1700s), which form the foundations of the tradition.
The passionate musical research of the trio composed of Rosella Caporale, Stefania, and Valentina Todesco successfully seeks to revive Neapolitan Music, between Poetry and History, at the very moment when popular expression acquires the meaning of the highest Culture.
An ideal "red thread" connects the dawn of Italian vocal tradition to universal expressions of natural singing, all underlined by extraordinary new arrangements, specially created by Stefania Todesco, which see the piano and cello as co-protagonists of the pieces alongside Rosella Caporale's voice.
The highest quality recording was made using the high-resolution digital live-in-studio technique, in order to preserve, on the one hand, every hidden nuance, and on the other hand, to guarantee all the pathos and spontaneity that only a live recording without editing cuts can offer.
