One of the relevant aspects of this sixth official album by Twenty Four Hours is the collaboration, for the band's sixth album, of Tuxedomoon founding members Blaine L. Reininger and Steven Brown. Blaine plays violin and sings, while Steven plays saxophone respectively on the tracks "Intertwined" and "All The World Needs is Love". Furthermore, two covers of the mythical Tuxedomoon track "What Use" are included, in both electronic and acoustic versions.
The new double album is deliberately inspired, in form and substance, by the four most important white albums in rock history: Closer by Joy Division, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway by Genesis, The White Album by The Beatles and The Wall by Pink Floyd. Unlike the previous Left-To-Live, it is not a concept album, but a collection of tracks that embrace many phases of the band's creative life, including ambient veins ("Intertwined"), a long suite inspired by Supper's Ready by Genesis ("Supper's Rotten"), where the profound change in values compared to those of the past is exacerbated, rock tracks ("The Tale of The Holy Frog") and punk (77). In the latter, which opens the album, aggressive PUNK atmospheres meet echoes of King Crimson, with a spectacular no-holds-barred final battle between Hammond organ and Hendrixian guitar.
The production was handled by Paolo Lippe and Andrea Valfrè, while the mixing and mastering in a totally analog domain were entrusted to the now consolidated duo Valfrè/Lincetto, who worked in synergy to offer extraordinary sound quality.
